President’s Message: 19 Years of Hard Work and Deep Gratitude

For the past 19 years, I’ve had the privilege of being part of this incredible organization. We’ve weathered challenges and celebrated victories, all while staying grounded in the merit shop philosophy that unites and strengthens us.

As ABC Maine celebrates 40 years, we honor the outstanding companies and professionals who make up our membership. Your commitment to safety, quality and workforce development fuels everything we do — and it shows. Together, we continue to create safe, healthy, and opportunity-filled job sites across our state.

But beyond the job, we must also remember the personal challenges many silently carry. Mental health struggles and suicide affect far too many in our industry and beyond. Let’s stay mindful, check in with one another, and ensure those around us know they’re not alone.

I’m deeply grateful to every one of you. Representing you in Maine is more than a role, it’s a calling. Your passion, drive, and dedication inspire me every day.

We’re getting closer to 200 members, and I’m proud to say we’re one of the top ABC chapters in the country for retention. That kind of success doesn’t happen by accident — it reflects the value we build together.

Our focus on workforce development continues to grow. By deepening partnerships with Maine’s Career and Technical Centers and high schools, we’re shaping the future of our industry — one student, one opportunity at a time.

At the same time, our volunteer leaders are working tirelessly on the advocacy front, championing fair, pro‑business policies that protect the industry we believe in. Their leadership ensures our voice is heard and our values are upheld.

So here’s to all we’ve accomplished — and to all that’s still ahead. Let’s keep building a stronger workforce, a stronger community, and a stronger future — together.

Hope
