As I trek into my 16th year at ABC Maine, I am amazed by leading and serving such a wonderful group of people in this lovely state we call home.
Even during these most unusual times, the Maine Chapter continues to thrive. Exceeding membership goals, developing the Chapter’s first apprenticeship program, and defeating unreasonable legislation, to name a few issues.
Our chapter continues to grow, and our voice has never been louder.
We face great challenges in 2022. Mandates, requirements, and new legislation are all threatening to tear down the very businesses we have worked so hard to build. Our neighbors, supporting businesses and the restaurants we love to frequent, struggle to keep their doors open.
Where are the people? What are they doing? How are they making ends meet? These are some of the questions I ask myself often.
We face an election year in 2022. What will that look like?
What I do know is you can count on ABC to deliver the merit shop message and protect your rights as a business owner in Maine. We will always fight against the discrimination a project labor agreement brings. We will continue to be resourceful and develop Maine’s workforce. We will continue to bring light to the successful careers our industry offers, and we will always advocate for a safe workplace.
