Cote Crane & Rigging was founded in 1966 by Armand E. Cote and his wife, Carmen, to provide crane service to local contractors in Maine. For nearly 60 years, the organization has evolved into a full-service company, experienced in meeting the challenging requirements of construction-related industries. As a family run company in its third generation, Cotes continues to expand their trucking, warehousing, crane and rigging services. Headquartered in Auburn, Maine, the Cote Crane family takes pride in providing exceptional rigging, hauling and crane services across New England. Cote’s firm commitment to safety, coupled with their dedication to excellence, has allowed them to lead the way for nearly 60 years. Crooker Construction
Since 1935, Crooker Construction has been providing superior construction services throughout the Mid‑Coast region. Founded as Harry C. Crooker & Sons Inc., Crooker Construction LLC is one of Maine’s most experienced earthwork, utility and paving contractors. Since the mid-1930s, Crooker Construction has transitioned from one man and a shovel to the construction industry leader of today.
Crooker conducts work in a variety of markets, from smaller projects for our continual repeat clients to the largest scale site, utility and paving work within our region.

Founded over 70 years ago as Eastern Fire Protection Company, Eastern Fire has become a leading fire protection company serving Maine and New Hampshire. Established by Jerry Haynes and Marc Tardif, the company was built on teamwork, expertise and a strong commitment to community safety. In 2021, Eastern Fire joined the Davis-Ulmer Family of Companies, a network of fire protection specialists across the Eastern U.S. Whether performing inspections or installing complex systems, they uphold the highest standards of safety, ethics, and technical expertise — values passed down through generations.

Gendron & Gendron
The Gendron family has been a significant real estate owner, developer, and contractor in the Lewiston‑Auburn area since 1971, when it was co‑founded by Del Gendron as Gendron & Gendron Construction. Del’s son, Dave, later took his father’s place as President, and Dave’s son, John, now leads the company. For three generations, the Gendrons have been leaders in developing retail, commercial and industrial projects in Lewiston-Auburn and across Maine.


Hahnel Bros. Co.
Founded in 1916, Oscar and Frederick Hahnel acquired Lewiston Metal, Cornice & Skylights Works. The company expanded during the FDR years through a partnership with Bangor Roofing & Sheet Metal Co. In 2005, a formal corporate merger of the two companies solidified their expansion into various sectors. Since then, Hahnel Bros Co. has provided both business owners and their customers with peace of mind regarding the dryness and warmth of their buildings, consistently keeping Maine safe, dry, and warm since 1916.

E.J. Prescott
Founded in 1955 in Gardiner, Maine, Everett J. Prescott Inc. (EJP), became the first waterworks distributor north of Massachusetts. In 1960, EJP expanded its services to include 24-hour emergency services. By 1990, EJP had locations in a number of states, including Maine. Today, the Prescott name continues to be synonymous with the waterworks industry, and they are looking forward to sharing their knowledge and expertise for generations to come.

Rowley Agency of Maine
The Rowley Agency LLC (Rowley), was founded by Joseph Rowley in 1966. In its sale to Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (Gallagher), which is headquartered in Concord, New Hampshire, it became one of the largest independent insurance agencies in New England, providing property/casualty, surety and employee benefits products to commercial and personal lines clients.

The Sheridan Corporation
Over 75 years ago, in 1947, attorney John Marshall, a resident of Sheridan Avenue in Auburn, Maine, purchased a Butler Metal building franchise. He named his new company after his street, the Sheridan Corporation. In 1958, Lyle M. Cutchin bought the Sheridan Corporation and moved it to Central Maine, first locating it in Waterville, then Benton Station. Today, the corporation is on a street named Sheridan; this time, it is Sheridan Drive in Fairfield.

Travers Electric Inc.
Travers Electric Inc, founded in 1970 by Henry and Jean Travers, is a full service electrical contracting company with in-house design build capability focusing on commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. Travers is a specialist in thermal imaging, which is the latest technology in preventive maintenance. Traverse has worked throughout most of the Central Maine area. The company currently employs 10 to 25 experienced electricians, several of whom have worked at Travers for over 20 years.
